Foster

  • Serve as the animal’s main advocate
  • Bring your dog to adoption shows
  • Provide feedback on applications that come in

Transporter

  • Drive animals from boarding or foster home to veterinarian
  • Pick up animals from a predetermined location (30–60-minute drive) and transport to kennel or foster home
  • Transport dogs from kennels to foster home or from foster home to kennel

Adoption Show Helper

  • Help with incidental tasks during the shows
  • Refill water bowls
  • Greet and guide public and answer questions
  • Transport dogs to shows
  • Handle dogs at shows

Dog Walker

  • Provide outdoor walking and play for dogs staying in boarding
  • Take dogs on field trips (parks, woods)
  • Provide a variety of fun and enriching experiences to keep the dogs happy

Admin Tasks

  • Enter info from medical records into our system
  • Create and post bios for available animals
  • Handle bookkeeping and essential records

Fundraising

  • Plan and carry out fundraising events
  • Recruit and retain donors
  • Create and manage online fundraising campaigns

Outreach

  • Manage social media accounts and create content to share through them
  • Help with branding, SEO optimization, and expanding our reach
  • Create and send outreach emails to the public to distribute news, updates, and other important information

Dog Applicant Meet & Greet Liasions

  • Discuss dog traits and adoption process with the applicant
  • Introduce adoption/foster applicants to dogs at boarding facility or separate location
  • If the applicant has a pet already, meet applicants and properly introduce the AHOTO dog and the applicants’ animals
  • Report the end results to the Dog Manager at the conclusion of the meeting
